Psiphon for Windows is an open-source tool that provides technologies, including VPN, SSH, and HTTP Proxy, to bypass restricted sites or internet censorship on your Windows device. If you have been looking for a handy application for this exact purpose, then Psiphon is the one for you. This application works well for users living in locations where websites or social media are heavily restricted.
Bypass blocked content
Psiphon's primary purpose and strength is bypassing restricted content that may be blocked by your ISP. In regions with heavy internet censorship, this tool will help you reach the open web without problems. If you want to access geo-blocked content, the app automatically selects the most effective connection protocol to ensure you get connected quickly.Built for access, not privacy
While Psiphon uses VPN, SSH, and HTTP Proxy protocols to tunnel your traffic, it is designed strictly as a circumvention tool rather than a traditional security VPN. Its main goal is to hide your traffic type from censors so you can access blocked content. The developers explicitly state that it does not increase your online privacy and should not be relied upon as a security tool for public Wi-Fi.Easy to set up and use
Psiphon is incredibly easy to start using. The best part is that you don't even need to install it. All you need to do is run the .exe file, and it will start connecting you to the optimal servers and connection protocols.
It is a lightweight application with a very simple user interface. Its one-click connection option makes it straightforward for all kinds of users. This simplicity does not mean that it lacks power, though.Flexible protocol settings and region selection
You can customize protocol settings according to your requirements for speed and reliability. It offers the option to manually select the region you would like to connect through. This allows users to find the best possible server configuration. If you want to unlock region-specific content on Netflix or other streaming platforms, this feature is very helpful.
Do note that some users have reported issues where websites like Google temporarily stopped working while Psiphon was connected.Free but with ads
Psiphon is completely free to use on Windows, but it does contain ads. Most commonly, a sponsored tab opens in your browser every time you launch the application, which is a fairly minor trade-off.
However, the free version is restricted in terms of speed. If you want faster performance, you can purchase PsiCash, their in-app currency, to buy temporary speed boosts, or opt for a premium subscription.A good solution for unrestricted browsing
Psiphon is an open-source tool that provides access to restricted sites and censored content. If you want to unblock your desired content over the web and browse freely, then this application is a solid choice.
